Brian Powell

Brian Powell is a Bulloch County native and the founder and President of Southern Scapes, a Statesboro-based landscape company he started in 2004 with a simple goal: work hard, take care of people, and build a company known for quality and honesty.

What began as a one-man, local operation has grown into a multi-divisional and diversified landscape company with over 35 employees serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Southeast Georgia. Today, Southern Scapes provides landscape installation, lawn maintenance, turfgrass treatments, landscape design, and operates Southern Scapes Nursery & Garden Center.

Brian remains actively involved in the day-to-day direction and growth of the company. Over the years, Southern Scapes has expanded not only organically but also through the acquisition of many other landscape and nursery businesses.  Throughout that growth, Brian has worked to maintain the relationships, personal service, and attention to detail that the company was built on.

For Brian, Southern Scapes is about more than the landscape industry. It is about building a company where employees can develop long-term careers, customers can depend on the people serving them, and the business can make a positive impact on the communities it serves.

More than 20 years after starting Southern Scapes, Brian continues to approach the business with the same entrepreneurial mindset that started it — looking for opportunities to improve and continue building a strong company that will last for generations.

 

Ty Henley

As Co-Owner & Director of Landscape Operations, Ty oversees Southern Scapes landscape installation division, working directly with customers from the initial consultation and landscape design through estimating, project management, and installation. He also leads crew training and develops project managers to ensure each job is executed to company standards.  Ty has extensive knowledge in the landscape industry from previously owning and operating a local landscape company for over ten years before merging with Southern Scapes.

 

Steven Cowart

Steven is our Director of Turf & Ornamentals Division, bringing 17 years of experience in the lawn care industry, along with a background in professional turf management and exceptional customer service. Steven brings a wealth of knowledge about plant, turf, and ornamental healthcare. With Steven’s leadership, knowledge, and experience, Southern Scapes provides the industry’s highest quality in standard practices when it comes to turf and ornamental treatments.

 

Davis Duggan

Davis is our Regional Accounts Manager and has been part of the Southern Scapes team for more than two years. He helps keep our lawn maintenance operations running smoothly by coordinating crews, overseeing accounts, and making sure our customers are happy with the service they receive.  Davis is extremely passionate about customer satisfaction and team building.  Because of his previous management experience in team leadership in the corporate setting, Davis is able to use his skills with Southern Scapes to ensure the highest quality standards are achieved.

 

Meredith Nobles

Meredith serves as Operations and Retail Manager at Southern Scapes Nursery, where she oversees inventory, daily operations, and customer experience. With a background in hands-on horticulture and systems-focused management, she’s passionate about connecting people with plants that will actually thrive in their spaces.

 

Dustin Cowart

As Install Project Manager, Dustin keeps every project on track and running smoothly from start to finish. With 13 years in the landscape industry, he brings valuable knowledge and hands-on experience to every job.  Dustin strives to ensure every project is completed in a timely manner and helps oversee Southern Scapes quality our community has come to expect.

 

Erin Phillips

As Assistant Manager at Southern Scapes Nursery, Erin helps keep the nursery running smoothly and jumps in wherever she’s needed. With a background in marketing, photography, and communications, she loves getting creative and showing people what makes Southern Scapes special!
